Sweet dreams have a way of slipping away by morning, leaving only fragments behind: a color, a feeling, a moment of peace we want to hold onto a little longer. I wanted this painting to feel like a keepsake for those fleeting treasures.

Layers of soft, drifting color stack gently across the canvas like memories tucked away one by one, with small touches of gold catching the light like the sparkle of something precious.

As I painted, I worked in horizontal passages, building and breaking each layer so that pieces of what came before peek through. Adding the gold felt like tucking little wishes into the surface, quiet moments of magic waiting to be discovered up close.

Intimate in scale, Collecting Sweet Dreams is a beautiful piece for a bedroom, reading nook, or study, anywhere you want a daily reminder of rest and wonder. To me, it is a painting about treasuring the small, sweet moments, and about carrying a little bit of our dreams with us into each new day.
