We all need a place where we can set down the weight of the day and simply breathe. Sometimes that place is a room, a garden, or a quiet corner of home. And sometimes, most beautifully, it is a person. I wanted this painting to feel like that kind of refuge.

As I painted, I gave the canvas plenty of open, airy space, letting soft layers settle around each shape like a gentle embrace. I added small touches of gold as little glimmers of warmth, the kind of light you feel when you are with someone who truly knows you. Every mark felt unhurried, and the painting became a place of calm as I worked.
